Incorporate the management of the negative impacts of climate change, the fostering of climate resilience, and in this context the pursuit of human rights

A) Objectifs de l’engagement:

Objective of the pledge is to better incorporate the management of the negative impacts of climate change, the fostering of climate resilience, and in this context the pursuit of human rights – in particular the fundamental human right to clean water – into the Hungarian international development policy.

Content of the pledge:

We pledge to declare the management of the negative impacts of climate change, the fostering of climate resilience, and in this context the pursuit of human rights – in particular the fundamental human right to clean water – as a key Government-wide objective of the new Hungarian Development Policy Strategy for the period 2020-2025 and – consequently – throughout the implementation of our development projects in partner countries.

B) Plan d’action

– Draft the new Hungarian Development Policy Strategy for the period 2020-2025 with a special focus on the abovementioned objectives.

 

– Initiate social dialogue with civil society organizations and academia regarding the exact priorities of the new Hungarian Development Policy Strategy for the period 2020-2025.

 

– Adopt the new Hungarian Development Policy Strategy for the period 2020-2025 by the Hungarian Government, so the abovementioned priorities will serve as key Government-wide objectives during IDC project preparation and implementation.

 

– As a part of the Hungarian Development Policy Strategy, a new IDC project-based monitoring and evaluation system will be envisaged, in which the abovementioned objectives shall be also ensured.

C) Indicateurs permettant de mesurer les avancées:

– Number of Hungarian IDC projects with the objective of providing clean water.

 

– Number of people with access to clean water, thanks to Hungarian IDC projects.
