Pledge Report – Protection of Cultural Goods in Armed Conflicts

Mesures prises:

One of the objectives established by CADIH in its work plan for the period 2023–2024 is to improve the protection of cultural property, by adopting measures for its identification, registration and marking in implementation of the Second Protocol of 1999 to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict of 1954.

Another of the activities planned is the identification of works and installations containing dangerous forces (Article 56 of Protocol I additional to the Geneva Conventions). This will involve identifying, registering and marking historical monuments and other property protected under domestic legislation for the implementation of the Second Protocol of 1999 to the Hague Convention of 1954.

CADIH will also seek to develop measures on cyber crime and artificial intelligence, including the analysis and study of autonomous weapons and their regulation, given that such attacks on critical infrastructure constitute a violation of IHL.
