A) Objectifs de l’engagement
The Government of the People’s Republic of China hereby pledges, for the period 2024-2028, to continue to faithfully perform its international humanitarian duty, support the development of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, actively participate in international humanitarian affairs, strengthen international humanitarian cooperation with concrete actions, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
B) Plan d’action
- Continue to adhere to the provisions of the four Geneva Conventions and their Additional Protocols and other instruments of international humanitarian law to which China is a party; respect and vigorously promote the public awareness of the Fundamental Principles, and work with all relevant stakeholders to address the humanitarian challenges; further promote the work of the National Committee of the International Humanitarian Law of China, improve the study on international humanitarian law and promote dissemination of international humanitarian law;
- Enhance cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC); Promote more countries to join ICRC Global Initiative to galvanize political commitment to International Humanitarian Law by putting humanitarian principles at the core; actively participate in international humanitarian assistance missions in spirit of humanitarianism to help more vulnerable people;
- Support the work of the Red Cross Society of China, encourage the Society’s participation in the International Red Cross Movement and China’s humanitarian assistance abroad, and encourage the Society to play its unique role as auxiliary to the government in humanitarian assistance;
- Promote the awareness of and implement the relevant resolutions of the 34thInternational Conference.
