A) Objectifs de l’engagement
The Czech Republic, cooperating with the Czech Red Cross, will focus its efforts to spread awareness of international humanitarian law and deepen its knowledge within the authorities of the criminal justice system (courts, prosecutors and police authorities) whose practice may raise the need to apply and interpret IHL. Given the close connection between the criminalisation of violations of international humanitarian law and other areas of international criminal law, such dissemination will also include other categories of crimes under international law (notably genocide and crimes against humanity).
B) Plan d’action
- Create an overview of existing training courses relating to international humanitarian law or international criminal law that are currently available in the Czech Republic for individual authorities of the criminal justice system (courts, prosecutors and police authorities) or that could be made available for the training of these organs.
- Identify the departments/staff of individual authorities of the criminal justice system that may encounter the need to apply and interpret international humanitarian law or international criminal law in their practice.
- Identify appropriate existing and propose new forms of training, including organizers/guarantors, thematic focus and frequency.
