2022 Council of Delegates
22–23 June 2022, Geneva, Switzerland- (in-person plenary)
January–May 2022 (online workshops)

The 2022 Council of Delegates looked at a variety of ways to ensure that the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement remains adaptable and accountable and that we maximize our collective impact. The overarching theme for the discussions and decisions was “Movement fit for Purpose”, with a focus on two areas: WHAT WE DO: addressing global and local needs and vulnerabilities; and HOW WE WORK: accountability, transparency, unity and sustainability of the Movement.

The 2022 Council of Delegates represents a key milestone on the “Road to the 34th International Conference”, which will take place in 2024. The Council of Delegates is a critical moment for the Movement to imagine, identify and shape ideas on the most pressing issues to be brought to the next International Conference. It is also an opportunity to reconnect on our previous commitments and highlight our progress, whether in relation to resolutions, pledges or discussions.
