Exploring the creation of a national platform on international humanitarian law

A) Objectives of the pledge:

The Netherlands and the Netherlands Red Cross

 

Recognize that a national platform could further enhance cooperation in the field of international humanitarian law among relevant national actors;

Reaffirm the auxiliary role of the Netherlands Red Cross on matters of international humanitarian law in the Netherlands in accordance with the Royal Decree of 1988;

Pledge to explore the creation of a national platform on international humanitarian law in the Netherlands.

B) Action plan:

In order to achieve this pledge before 2023, we will endeavor to undertake the following actions:

 

 

• To explore possible functions and scope that a national platform on international humanitarian law could have;

• To agree on the option most appropriate in the context of the Netherlands.
