Cooperation, continued mutual support, exchange of views and information on programme and relevant national activities

A) Objectives of the pledge:

The Red Cross National Societies of Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and Montenegro established a group of Small European Countries’ National Societies in October 2014, whose main goals are the following:

    • Develop relations of friendship and mutual support between these National Societies in international and national activities.

 

    • Establish collaboration in international and national activities.

 

    • Put in place a dialogue regarding their role within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

 

With the aim of accomplishing these goals and with reference to paragraph 3 of the resolution on “Strengthening the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement response to growing humanitarian needs”, aforementioned National Societies hereby pledge to further their cooperation and continue to support one another and exchange views and information on their programs and relevant national activities.

B) Action plan:

This will include:

    • Mutual exchange of information on global humanitarian issues, including preparedness and response.

 

    • Youth activities and international development programs and humanitarian assistance in international and national context.

 

    • Annual meetings to discuss shared interests and to identify opportunities of collaboration and mutual support.

 

    • Joint application for projects of common interest.
