    The Tracing Service was established within the Slovenian Red Cross. It is composed of the representatives of the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Slovenian Red Cross and the Government Office for the Support and Integration of Migrants. The Tracing Service performs the tasks under Article 122 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War of 12 August 1949 and under Article 136 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of 12 August 1949 as well as other tasks specified by the Slovenian Red Cross Act. The Tracing Service keeps data records, provides data to the affected individuals and competent bodies in Slovenia and abroad in accordance with the legal frame on data protection, and re-establishes contacts between family members separated by war or other emergencies or on the migration route.

    The commitments have not yet had a direct impact on the work of the State. However, they have contributed to a deeper discussion during the session of the Slovenian National International Humanitarian Law Committee on the trafficking of the most vulnerable persons, particularly children who are being separated from their families during armed conflicts or when and fleeing armed conflicts.
