Slovenia recently implemented Guidelines for the inclusion of gender equality in the international development cooperation and humanitarian aid, which commit MFEA that by 2030 at least 85% of development projects and programs will include activities for gender equality and women’s empowerment as a principal or a significant goal according to the OECD DAC methodology.

To ensure more efficient and prompt humanitarian response, Slovenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICRC in 2023, which foresees Slovenia’s annual contributions between in the 2023-2025 period to support ICRC’s humanitarian assistance programmes and activities worldwide. In 2023, Slovenia earmarked part of its contribution under MoU to ICRC’s Special Appeal on Sexual Violence.

In 2023, Slovenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICRC to support ICRC’s humanitarian assistance programmes and activities worldwide. Additionally, Slovenia continues to promote public awareness-raising of development-humanitarian activities. In 2023, the first Slovenian Humanitarian Forum was organised in October within the framework of the 11th edition of Slovenian Development Days. Among the high level guests were representatives from ICRC and World Food Programme (WFP).
