    Under the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan B.E. 2564-2570 (2021-2027), mental and psychosocial needs have become an integral part of the Post-Disaster Need Assessment that guides relief and recovery management for those affected by disaster.

    The Department of Mental Health, Ministry of Public Health has continuously enhanced mental health service system in time of crisis and promote collaboration between Mental Health Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (MCATT) and other disaster response teams, such as Medical Emergency Response Team, Surveillance and Rapid Response Team, and Medical Supportive Emergency Response Team. At the same time, the Department of Mental Health is promoting the implementation of community supportive networks in areas affected by natural disasters or other emergencies.

    In addition, the Relief and Community Health Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society has incorporated mental health first aid in its operations.

    In addition to the incorporation of mental health into existing national frameworks, there has been more cooperation between relevant agencies in addressing mental health of affected population as well as personnel involved in delivering emergency assistance.
