Mesures prises:
- Training Day for 200 students on First Aid with a focus on the health consequences of the heat waves
- Italian RC has been selected by the ICRC-IFRC Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance as project pilot to test the new Humanitarian Carbon Calculator of its carbon footprint. At the end of this test period, the new tool has been officially adopted by the IRC as the main benchmark against which to monitor and prioritize the new Environmental Action Plan.
Annual reports on its greenhouse gas emissions have been released since 2022.
In 2023, a technical reference group was launched in order to collect emissions data from every IRC office department and to develop an action plan for the progressive decrease of GHG emissions.
Lastly, In order to minimize the climate impact of our organization, we are finalizing an action plan on Sustainability for the decreasing of GHG emissions.
No Representative has been appointed yet and no shared digital platform has been built yet. In terms of issues related to the implementation of health-related plans, the pandemic played a major role, which slowed down a lot the development of this aspect which is now ongoing
