A) Objectifs de l’engagement
The Republic of Poland undertakes to prioritize the protection of children in armed conflicts. It also undertakes to take and support internationally initiatives to promote and protect rights of children in the context of armed conflicts.
B) Plan d’action
– continuation of the work of the Commission for International Humanitarian Law, operating at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the area of exchange of knowledge on initiatives to protect children in the context of armed conflict
– raising the issue of protecting children in armed conflicts in international fora, including United Nations, and the desire to incorporate provisions regarding the protection of this group into the documents accepted by these forums
– in the context of humanitarian aid, prioritization of the special needs of children in armed conflicts, and striving to address these needs in humanitarian activities at bilateral and multilateral levels
– continuation of advocacy on respect for international humanitarian law
C) Indicateurs permettant de mesurer les avancées:
– development of initiatives to protect children in the context of armed conflict, including through the dissemination of international humanitarian law
– an increased number of initiatives and events at international fora on the issue of children in the context of armed conflicts
D) Ressources nécessaires:
Republic of Poland will determine the human, financial and technical resources that may be required to support the implementation of this pledge based on actions to be taken.
