    Indonesia has a specific law regarding mental health, which regulates about the role of government and community, including how to promote mental health through promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative. The regulation named Law of the Republic of Indonesia no. 18 of 2014 about Mental Health. Even more, it is already stated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia article 34.

    Nationally we have psychosocial support regular meeting, led by Ministry of health, Ministry of social affairs participated by humanitarian actors work in psychosocial support service. Most frequently discussed about psychosocial support in crisis situations.

    PMI has specific organizational regulation about psychosocial support explaining how to conduct psychosocial support to community and psychosocial support to staff and volunteer.

    Exemples de coopération :

    * Regular meeting with the ministry of health, the ministry of social affairs and humanitarian partners regarding the psychosocial issues including the role of each institution in giving psychosocial intervention during a crisis.

    * Collaborates with academia in conducting research to develop/review Psychosocial support guidelines or training modules.

    * Coordinate, sharing and learning with IFRC and other National Societies, we already have RC MHPSS (mental health psychosocial support) regional regular online meeting

    PMI does not have specific funds allocated for psychosocial support service; the annual plans are prepared based on the needs not based on the availability of funds.

    * The government and NGO are frequently discussed about psychosocial measurements tool, the idea is how to conduct psychosocial joint assessments.

    * The specific roles of each organization are also often discussed, to provide comprehensive services to the community.

    * Exchanged trainers between organizations, considering the specialization of each organization.

    * PMI has collaborated with other institutions to build referral system, especially in disaster situations. In recent years PMI has referred several people to professional to get psychological treatment.

    Community members consider mental health is important aspect of life, there are many seminars and discussions about mental health conducted in community level. During Global Pandemic COVID-19, the psychosocial support is one of priority intervention and give big impact at community level, this support delivers by volunteers with several methods: such as provide counselling session, support home based care for family affected, facilitating referral system to higher level (psychologist, and health facilities), support logistic for most vulnerable communities, social education on anti-stigma and discrimination for people/ family with covid-19 and or other diseases, etc.
