In order to ensure respect for and protect the integrity of the distinctive emblems recognized under the 1949 Geneva Conventions and the Additional Protocols, the Danish Ministry of Justice in 2002 issued a circular letter addressed to the Danish Police and the Danish Prosecution Service on the criminal protection of the emblems. The Government of Denmark, in cooperation with the Danish Red Cross, is currently in the process of updating this circular letter.
