Indonesian Red Cross : Preventing and Responding to SGBV issues

A) Objectives of the pledge:

Our National Society will strengthen practical measures to prevent and respond to issues of Sexual and Gender-based Violence (SGBV) in emergency in line with humanitarian principles, international commitments and standards, and existing national society policies.

 

B) Action plan:

    • Promoting creation of safe environment during emergencies to the communities.

 

    • Promoting creation of safe environment to PMI’s resources.

 

    • Engaging community members in particular women in decision making about disaster risk management in order to benefit from their perspective in the prevention of and respond to sexual and gender based violence.

 

    • Strengthening referral system with related national agencies and stakeholders in respond to violence.

 

    • Promoting and adopting zero tolerance policies on sexual exploitation and abuse.
