Implementation of the western Japan disaster response fulfilling international criteria

Actions taken:

The JRCS provided health support to people in shelters affected by The Great Osaka Earthquake, Torrential Rain Disaster in July 2018, Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake, Heavy Rain Disaster from 27th August in the first year of Reiwa Era and the Typhoon No. 15 in the same year.

At the Psychosocial Support Leader Training Seminar, the JRCS lectured about psychosocial support to people such as children, the elderly and pregnant who need care the most at the time of disaster.

Using “Life Support Course Handbook for the Elderly in Disaster”, the JRCS held seminars on preventing disuse syndrome to the general public.

When a disaster occurred, the JRCS distributed “Life Support Course Handbook for the Elderly in Disaster” to evacuees, which describes points to remember in life in a shelter.
