    Précisions :

    In 2023, military psychologists of the Slovenian Armed Forces (hereinafter: SAF), in accordance with internal regulations, provided mental health and psychological support to victims of natural and other disasters. They also provided assistance to SAF members who required it due to the stress experienced while dealing with the consequences of natural and other disasters.

    Slovenia is funding the following projects in the 2023-2025 period: Reconstruction of a rehabilitation centre for disabled children and young people in Zhytomyr region, Support to communities affected by the conflict in NE Syria, Assistance to Palestine for capacity building in the field of integrated rehabilitation and mental health for victims of conflict, Support to a polyclinic in Kabul, Psychosocial rehabilitation of Armenian child victims of the recent armed conflict, Anti-mining activities in Ukraine, Mental health and psychosocial support for children and their families in Ukraine and Medical and psychosocial assistance to Ukrainian refugee children in Moldova. In addition, we support economic and social reintegration of the refugees in Uganda and Sudan, and of victims of landmines in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the special focus on gender equality. Furthermore, assistance to women and girls in conflict-affected environments is also a part of two projects in Lebanon, and post-conflict assistance is at the core of the projects for the recovery of a Syrian girl, and for Ukrainian and Belarusian children.

    In responding to natural and other disasters, there was a lack of coordination between psychologists and SAF trustees, and between psychologists and trustees of other stakeholders, which often resulted in SAF psychologists acting on their own initiative.
