A) Objetivos de la promesa
Austria and the Austrian Red Cross hereby pledge:
– to reconfirm our commitment to the joint pledges from 2007, 2011 and 2015 on the dissemination of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) – also under the aspect of asylum and integration, to promote the knowledge of IHL among the young generation.
– to provide tutorial programs in order to address educational needs of children until they reach the end of compulsory schooling. Thereby we commit ourselves to contribute to the achievement of SDG 4 “Quality Education” and its related indicators.(4.1., 4.2., 4.4., 4.5., 4.6.)
– to promote campaigns such as “#Humanity” in order to successfully transfer humanitarian education and the provision of values to the digital sphere.
B) Plan de acción
– Dissemination of International Humanitarian Law, to promote the knowledge of IHL (also under the aspect of asylum and integration) within young generation in school and youth groups of Austrian Red Cross as well within teachers in educational institutions (multipliers information)
– Campaigns like “#Humanity” target pedagogical staff as well as young people and raise social media competence.
– Extension of tutorial programs to address educational needs of children until they reach the end of compulsory school.
C) Indicadores para medir los avances:
Contribute to reduce dropout rates in compulsory schools (currently about 4000 children in Austria)
Tutorial programs contribute to the achievement of SDG 4 including indicators 4.1., 4.4., 4.5. in Austria
Increase the number of children profiting from learning programmes and youth camps (2017: 3000)
D) Recursos requeridos:
Costs are covered by regular budgets for Austrian RC education programs.
