Human Trafficking

A) Objetivos de la promesa

For the years 2016 – 2019, the Australian Government and Australian Red Cross hereby pledge:

 

    • To work together to progress Australia’s whole-of-community strategy to prevent and address human trafficking, slavery and slaverylike practices, such as forced marriage and forced labour, as set out under Australia’s National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking and Slavery 2015-19.

 

    • To work together to continue to enhance support provided to people who have experienced human trafficking, slavery or slavery-like practices, such as forced marriage or forced labour.

 

    • To continue to engage in regular, timely and constructive dialogue with civil society, business, unions and academia to ensure robust response efforts to both prevent and respond to human trafficking, slavery and slaverylike practices, such as forced marriage and forced labour.

 

 

B) Plan de acción

    • The Australian Government will report annually to the Australian Parliament on the implementation of the National Action Plan to Combat Human Trafficking and Slavery 2015-19. Reports will include contributions from key partners including ARC.

 

    • The Australian Government and Australian Red Cross will monitor the effectiveness of the support and protection provided to people who have experienced human trafficking, slavery or slaverylike practices, such as forced marriage and forced labour, through the delivery of Australia’s Support for Trafficked People Program.

 

    • The Australian Government will hold bi-annual forums to discuss key issues in Australia’s response to human trafficking, slavery and slaverylike practices, such as forced marriage and forced labour, with partners from civil society, business, unions and academia, including the Australian Red Cross.

 

    • The Australian Government and Australian Red Cross will continue efforts to enhance our joint understanding of the extent and nature of human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices, such as forced marriage and forced labour.

 

    • Australian Red Cross will share its understanding of the humanitarian impacts of human trafficking, slavery and slavery-like practices, such as forced marriage and forced labour, with the Australian Government with a view to identifying possible gaps in preventing and responding to emerging needs
