Acciones tomadas:
• Swiss Red Cross has developed and implemented a position paper for internal sensibilization and advocacy purposes in favor of the victims of SGBV. Dokument
• A webinar for professional staff of the SRC headquarters and the local branches who are working with the vulnerable group of asylum seekers, refugees as well as undocumented migrants has been conducted and will be multiplicated.
• Swiss Red Cross is in regular contact with the Swiss administration to advocate for a non-discriminatory and comprehensive support and treatment of asylum seekers and refugees who have (potentially) suffered from SGBV. Improvements for gender sensitive accommodations have been suggested.
• Swiss Red Cross has expressed concerns and made propositions in a political procedure to improve the situation of persons of the migrant population, i.e. mostly women and children, suffering from domestic violence, to ensure that they do not suffer negative consequences regarding their residency status by leaving the offender.
Special action plan of the Swiss Red Cross Outpatient clinic for Victims of Torture and War:
• The staff of the SRC Outpatient Clinic for Victims of Torture and War has been sensitized and trained to the specific challenges faced in therapy and counselling sessions with survivors of SGBV.
• A standard operating procedure and referral pathway for victims of human trafficking identified at the Healthcare Center for Undocumented Migrants has been established.
• A standard operating procedure and referral pathways for victims of domestic violence identified at the SRC Outpatient Clinic for Victims of Torture and War and the Healthcare Center for Undocumented Migrants is in progress.
Special action plan of the International Cooperation of Swiss Red Cross:
• The commitment and obligation to promote the active, equal and meaningful participation of all women, girls, boys and men in emergency preparedness, response, recovery and development decision making processes in the international cooperation of the SRC is established in the actual program.
• In the Annual Reporting all partners report to the standard indicators on gender and diversity.
Special action plan of the Swiss Red Cross Human Resources:
• A web-based module to sensitize and train employees on sexual harassment and exploitation at the workplace as well as a confidential service to report critical incidents are available.
