Changing minds, saving lives and building resilience through values based education for all

ا)‌ أهداف التعهد

Recalling the “Skills and Values Based Education” pledge from the 31st International Conference 2011, we commit to promote, collaborate on, and provide humanitarian education that further develops skills, knowledge and attitudes of children and youth to help and care for oneself and one another and be agents of change contributing to safer, healthy and resilient local communities.

Humanitarian education enables individuals and communities to interpret situations from a humanitarian perspective and empowers them to address challenges and take action through voluntary service in the spirit of the Fundamental Principles and humanitarian values of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. It promotes humanitarian values such as dialogue, mutual understanding, respect for diversity, nonviolence and inclusiveness, and equips learners with life-saving and community resilience-enhancing skills, such as first aid, psycho-social support, nonviolent communication and mediation.

    • Share values and skills based education initiatives on the Humanitarian Education Learning Portal (HELP community) and other online platforms, to learn one from another and develop action-oriented initiatives and projects together.
