Promote the awareness of inhumanity of nuclear weapons

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Federation’s founding and the second year since the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons adopted by the United Nations in 2017. The JRCS held the “Red Cross Youth Action Forum” in August with15 Red Cross Youth representatives from 12 countries gathering in Hiroshima. They learned about the actual aspects of atomic bombs exposure at the Peace Museum and the Hiroshima Red Cross A-bomb Hospital and adopted the “Hiroshima Declaration” for future action plans.

The JRCS also conducted a series of lectures on the abolition of nuclear weapons at universities.
