Further to OP3 “(…) urges the Movement components to continue their efforts to serve affected populations in the most effective and inclusive manner possible”; Danish Red Cross has provided support to strengthening Movement cooperation through the SMCC initiative, and has in particular supported the implementation of the pilot initiative in South Sudan. Complementary to this, DRC has been one of the drivers of an initiative to strengthen Efficiency, Impact and Localisation (EIL). The EIL initiative aims at more intelligent use of, in particular, bilateral Movement Component resources, knowledge and know-how in recovery and protracted crises as well as longer-term operations. The EIL model will be implemented in different context, merging bilateral programmes and with Host NS in the driving seat for strategic direction. Under the strategic lead of Nepal Red Cross, British, Canadian, Danish and American Red Cross have in 2019, started the process of merging their programmes with Danish Red Cross as the lead cooperating partner. Further to OP5 “encourages States to recognize as appropriate the Movement logo and facilitate its use on their territory, in compliance with applicable national and international law and in conformity with the 1991 Emblem Regulations”, Danish Red Cross has provided technical input to the Ministry of Justice, which has had the lead on updating Danish national Regulation on the Red Cross emblem taking into consideration the Movement logo adopted at the 2015 Council of Delegates. The updated regulation is still pending formal approval.
