 Comments / description of activities:
The German Red Cross has been actively advocating with the German government to further support the Federation’s disaster law programme financially. Recently German Red Cross facilitated a significant multi-year funding for the Federation Secretariat including the RC EU Office by the German Ministry of Development Cooperation. In international cooperation, disaster law is discussed and included as appropriate in all DRR and CCA programmes. In particular in long-term so-called “social-structural assistance” programming DL is a core element.

For international cooperation programmes bullet point 2 and 3 is applied in the context of question 1 as part of DRR and CCA programmes.

The German Red Cross is actively taking part in several fora on the implementation of Sendai Framework for DRR, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Paris Agreement. In international cooperation programmes major advances have been made by developing a resilience framework and changing from sectoral to integrated programming. Domestically, GerRC is one of the biggest actors in DRR and hence participating on all administrative levels in relevant discussions as well as operational measures.

What steps has your National Society taken to support your public authorities in assessing their existing legal frameworks related to first aid? Please explain: 
The German Red Cross maintains a close relationship and is in permanent exchange with the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance as well as the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Furthermore, GerRC collaborates with the German Resuscitation Council.

What steps has your National Society taken to support your public authorities in strengthening their existing legal frameworks related to first aid? Please explain: 
The German Red Cross is member of the National Action Alliance for Resuscitation under the leadership of the Federal Ministry of Health.
