Explanation:

One of the priorities of development cooperation and humanitarian aid is the promotion of peaceful and inclusive societies, with particular emphasis on good governance, equal opportunities, including gender equality, and quality education. Gender equality and women in humanitarian action were also an important priority of the Slovenian EU Council Presidency in COHAFA and were addressed several times at the meetings of this Working Party.

Examples of cooperation:

In implementing development-humanitarian projects on these topics, Slovenia cooperates with implementing institutions and NGOs. Slovenia was also involved in discussions on this topic with external partners in the framework of COHAFA meetings during the EU Council Presidency – e.g. UNICEF, UNFPA, Call to Action on Protection from GBV in emergencies. Since 2018, Slovenia has been a member of the global initiative Call to Action on Protection from Gender-based Violence in emergencies and in 2020, reaffirmed its commitments for the 2021–2025 period. Slovenia also makes annual contributions to this commitment through international organisations.
