    Vulnerable groups and those who need special assistance have been included in all planning and operations of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior.

    The Royal Thai Police has continued to build capacity for its personnel to support and assist the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation in responding to disasters and other emergencies.

    Examples of cooperation:

    The Royal Thai Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 25 August 2021 with the Royal Thai Red Cross on Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to train Royal Thai Police’s personnel in providing life-saving interventions.

    Details about the impact:

    The resolution reaffirms Thailand’s commitment to fully address and protect vulnerable groups from natural disasters and other emergencies.

    To realize this, more cooperation has been made to build capacity and enhance coordination among relevant agencies, especially those playing the roles of first-responders.

    In addition, such commitments also support and strengthen the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, which provides guidelines in promoting the resilience of health systems.
