Report on – 33rd IC Resolution 5: Women and leadership in the humanitarian action of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (33IC/19/R5) – Bulgarian Red Cross

    At the International, Regional, National, Local level

    Explanation:

    BRC has been elected as a member of IFRC GB, a woman is representing the NS in the GB.
    Two Sr. management – women are members of GlowRed Network.
    Two women are members in RedViwo Network.
    BRC’s women – staff and volunteers equally participate at all meetings and trainings organized.
    National:
    – BRC increased the number of women elected as members of National GB.
    – The President of BRC’s Youth is female; At the Youth RC’s GB women and men are equally represented.
    – Most of Sr. Management positions at National level are held by women, as well as the Directors of NS local branches.
    – As delegates of BRC’ s highest forum – GA , women and men are equally represented, democratically elected.
    – Percentage of women and men volunteers and members of the NS is almost equal.
    – The BRC’s HR system and regulations for hiring and payment is based on the criteria, developed for various positions, personal and professional skills required are equally applied for women and men. Same applies for procedures for nominations about elected positions, members and volunteers policies.

    – Development of NS Policy for Protection, gender and inclusion
    – Mainstreaming into all NS’s documents, programs, trainings, etc.
    – Increased support to vulnerable
