    Examples of cooperation:

    In accordance with paragraph 5 and 6 of the resolution, the Austrian RC has partnered with the Austrian government and the ICRC to host a European regional conference of national IHL committees in Vienna in 2023. The conference contributed to strengthen the core work of IHL commission and welcomed participants from EU member states, EU accession countries, the UK.
    States who have not yet established a national IHL committee have also been invited. The conference aimed at strengthening cooperation at regional level and enabled exchanges on topics such as clarification of the fate of missing persons; explosive weapons in populated areas; universal jurisdiction; and humanitarian exceptions to sanctions.

    Description of the impact:

    The dissemination of IHL at schools and among young people is part of the mandate of the Austrian Youth Red Cross. This target group is addressed with a e-learning module on IHL which was made available through a public link on the website of the Youth RC, that reaches around 440.000 people each year.
