Improving access to high quality information on the situation of vulnerable groups in countries of origin of asylum seekers

A) Objectives of the pledge:

The Austrian Red Cross will contribute to fair and efficient refugee status determination procedures by providing independently and neutrally researched information on the conditions in countries of origin of applicants for international protection. Information on the situation of vulnerable in these countries is often scant.

With the country of origin information system ecoi.net, Austrian Red Cross’ department ACCORD already provides easy and fast access to high-quality and up-to-date country of origin information (COI) from currently 169 countries for all actors involved in asylum cases.

B) Action plan:

The Austrian Red Cross will organise events and publish documentation to improve knowledge about the situation of vulnerable groups.

C) Indicators for measuring progress:

At minimum 1 seminar with experts organised per year

At minimum 1 country report on the topic published per year
