IHL: DIFFERENT PEOPLE, DIFFERENT IMPACTS

A) Objectives of the pledge:

Recalling the need to apply international humanitarian law (IHL), as applicable, without any adverse distinction,

Observing that diverse women, men, girls and boys can be affected by armed conflict in different ways and that this influences their needs, capacities and perspectives,

B) Action plan:

We, the Swedish Red Cross, pledge to undertake the following actions by the year 2023:

  1. Promote and encourage dedicated research addressing how diverse women, men, girls and boys may be affected in different ways by the application or implementation of specific IHL obligations.

  1. Disseminate and conduct trainings in IHL that consider how diverse women, men, girls and boys may be affected in different ways by the application or implementation of specific IHL obligations.

C) Indicators for measuring progress:

Number of IHL dissemination or training sessions that make reference to or are informed by analyses of different impacts on diverse women, men, girls and boys
