IHL and autonomous weapons study

A) Objectives of the pledge:

Autonomous weapons systems pose a number of significant legal, ethical and humanitarian challenges. Questions related to the application and interpretation of international humanitarian law (IHL) are highly relevant as autonomous weapons systems could radically alter the nature of conduct of hostilities in armed conflict, in particularly the use of lethal force against persons.

We hereby pledge to undertake and support a study looking into the rules and principles of IHL and their application in the context of autonomous weapons systems which complements work already done.
