Report on pledge – Women and leadership (OP330106)

Actions Taken:

Since 2019 Irish Red Cross has worked towards achieving the pledge’s goals, namely:

  • So as to ensure anoymised recruitments, through some of our platforms that we advertise new roles we can hide candidate names and photos to allow for ‘blind’ reviewing of CV’s, with the aim of reducing bias in our recruitment process.

  • There is a strong commitment within the Irish Red Cross to recruit more women in leadership positions. Since 2019, despite Irish Red Cross having increased the representation of women across some of its decision-making levels, under representation at governance and from diverse backgrounds remains a challenge for the organisation. At the same time, for all postings the organisation includes a statement that verifies its value on diversity.
