Actions taken:

Intending to raise awareness on the need to protect children in situations of armed conflict and on the related legal and policy framework, e.g. the Safe School Declaration, the Italian RC has carried out the following dissemination activities:

  • organize a dedicated panel with academic experts on the topic of the protection of children in situations of armed conflict, within the framework of the Italian RC’s National IHL Conference for IHL volunteers of March 2023
  • participation as a panelist in the webinar organized by the University of Verona on 5 April 2023 on international criminal justice and the protection of children in armed conflict
