Pledge on Sexual and Gender-based Violence in Emergencies – Focus on Situations of Conflict and Disasters

Actions taken:

The JRCS continued to introduce “Respect for Gender and Diversity” in the IMPACT / ERU basic training curriculum for delegates in advance, and trained personnel to obtain basic knowledge for comprehensive support. At the same time, the concept of the “understanding of gender-based violence and how to deal with it” was introduced into curricula in our security management training sessions to improve gender issues in the actual fields and the risk management awareness.

In our ERU training, the JRCS has been working on various gender issues in our training sessions from web-seminars to simulation works, so that our delegates can always be aware of the gender issue as an indispensable part of their medical treatments as well as clinical visits.

In our security management training, the JRCS continued to incorporate “ the understanding of gender-based violence and how to deal with it ” into our curricula to enhance the level of security management with delegates by introducing preventive measures and organizational management measures.
