Pledge on sexual and gender-based violence in emergencies – focus on situations of conflict and disasters

Actions taken:

    • Organized YABC (Youth as Agent of Behavioral Change seminar), which is the International Federation’s initiative for the promotion of a culture of non-violence and peace, for the first time in Japan. 

 

    • Established an internal regulation for prevention of sexual harassment and other harassments and provided trainings for staff members through e-learning.

 

    • Incorporated a session on protecting pregnant women and nursing mothers into trainings for Red Cross Disaster Relief Teams.

 

    • Incorporated a session on “respecting gender and diversity” or “gender-based violence and coping mechanism” into training courses for international delegate candidates (IMPACT, ERU and Risk Management trainings).
