Actions taken:
En octobre 2016, lors du débat de la 6e Commission de l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies sur l’Etat des Protocoles additionnels aux Conventions de Genève, la Belgique a soutenu l’appel de l’UE aux Etats membres des Nations Unies, qui ne l’auraient pas encore fait, à accepter la compétence de la Commission internationale humanitaire d’établissement des faits (CIHEF) selon l’article 90 du Premier Protocole additionnel.
Par ailleurs la Belgique est devenue membre du Groupes d’Amis de la CIHEF créé en 2019.
La Belgique continu à soutenir la reconnaissance de la compétence de la CIHEF dans certains de ses contacts bilatéraux avec d’autres Etats.
