Report on resolution 7
o Switzerland has considerably increased its support on expertise level as well as financially to the 33rd International Red Cross and Red Crescent Conference in 2019. This enabled an efficient preparation of the conference and an improved involvement of National Societies and modern means of communication to reach out to young people.
o Switzerland’s initiative to strengthen the capacities of National Societies with the National Society Investment Alliance Fund (NSIA) has been implemented. Since 2019 National Societies can profit from financial support out of the NSIA, which is jointly managed by the IFRC and the ICRC. Switzerland acts as the main donor to the NSIA Fund.
o Switzerland has doubled its contribution to the Disaster Relief Emergency Fund (DREF) of the IFRC, a mechanism that helps National Societies to react immediately to emergency needs after a natural disaster.
