National coordination for psychosocial support

Actions taken:

The importance of psychosocial support has been recognized more widely in the latest national security strategy draft. It has been given a key role in building community resilience. The psychosocial support will be launched in accidents and crisis situations as a cooperation with authorities coordinated by social and crisis emergency services. The Finnish Red Cross has participated in the drafting of the strategy.

The coordination of psychosocial support in regional level is going to be developed in the context of the restructuration of health and social services in Finland (by 2019). Also a network of experts in psychosocial support is going to be formed.

The report on best practices on coordination in psychosocial support is being drafted but it is not yet finished.
