Pledges for the 33rd RCRC International Conference (ROK) – 2)

A) Objectives of the pledge:

The government of the Republic of Korea hereby pledges to join the international efforts to prevent and respond to Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) under the context of armed conflicts, including providing support for victims and survivors of SGBV, in line with Korea’s policy initiative, “Action with Women and Peace,” launched in 2018.

B) Action plan:

The ROK government plans to a) hold an annual international conference for raising awareness on the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda, and b) provide an average of 2 to 3 million USD worth of targeted assistance to support the vulnerable people who are suffering from, and in the danger of SGBV.

C) Indicators for measuring progress:

The number of participants to and the outcomes of the international conference, the amount of targeted assistance, the number of reached people from the funding, and any relevant reports available on this.

D) Resource implications:

Humanitarian assistance funding from the ROK government, the cooperation between ROK government and partners such as the Movement, relevant UN agencies, and advocates who shares the cause.
