Intercultural Dialogue

A) Objectives of the pledge:

The Austrian Red Cross acknowledges the importance of intercultural dialogue as a means to foster integration. The exchange of people with different backgrounds aims at reducing prejudice, fears and conflicts and supports an inclusive society.

The Austrian Red Cross commits to expand its work to foster and promote inclusion and social cohesion, recognizing that these issues are interlinked with the wellbeing and flourishing of all people both in home and host communities.

B) Action plan:

To reach this aim, the Austrian RC has established two programs “projektXchange” (at schools, for young people) and “Crosstalk” (for grown ups) that foster intercultural dialogue.

The Austrian RC commits itself to continue these projects with the aim to offer them nationwide.

C) Indicators for measuring progress:

“projektXchange” and “Crosstalk” workshops will be offered nationwide.

More and diverse ambassadors will be included in the projects and new partnerships will be established.
