Youth Engagement for a Better World

Actions taken:

  • Partnership with the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) allows IRC youth members to attend national events on youth specific topics.
  • Youth members contribute to their local communities through participation in and promotion of our youth initiatives such as Anti-Bullying campaign, Positive Mental Health programme, and internationally recognised RCRC programmes such as Youth on the run and Positive Images.
  • IRC focuses on education around and action on the SDG’s as part of its awards-based OPTIONS programme which encourages community actions and peer to peer education.
  • IRC youth members also participate with partners NYCI, in One World week which focuses on climate action and is a week of youth-led awareness raising, education and action that takes place throughout Ireland each year.

Youth members are supported in becoming youth leaders through provision of training which focus on roles within the Youth structure so youth members can have a stronger voice at branch level.
