A) Objectives of the pledge:

Pledge on the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law and Principles

For the years 2015-2019 the Government of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross building on the successes of previous commitments to raise awareness of IHL jointly pledge:

    • To promote awareness with the general public, and young people in particular, of the principles and rules of international humanitarian law by working together to increase public discourse and dialogue on humanitarian concerns related to IHL and principles; and

 

 

    • To continue the cooperation between the Canadian Red Cross and the Government of Canada in the promotion of humanitarian education activities across Canada

 

 

Engagement en matière de promotion du droit et des principes internationaux humanitaires

Pour les années 2015 à 2019, s’appuyant sur la réussite des engagements antérieurs en matière de sensibilisation au droit international humanitaire (DIH), le gouvernement du Canada et la Croix-Rouge canadienne s’engagent conjointement à :

    • promouvoir la sensibilisation auprès du grand public, et des jeunes en particulier, aux principes et aux règles du droit international humanitaire en travaillant ensemble à alimenter le débat public et le dialogue sur les préoccupations humanitaires relatives au droit et aux principes internationaux humanitaires;

 

 

    • poursuivre la coopération entre la Croix-Rouge canadienne et le gouvernement du Canada dans la promotion des activités d’éducation humanitaire d’un bout à l’autre du Canada.
