The International Conference is one of the great expressions of our principle of Universality. When our National Societies, the International Federation and ICRC all come together with States Party to the Geneva Convention at this conference, everyone is given an equal right to be heard and voice ideas and has the responsibility to participate and make constructive suggestions.

The International Conference is always an opportunity for participants to share the challenges they are facing at home and find others who experience the same issues and can empathise and maybe suggest solutions and propose a way forward. It is an opportunity to make connections that can actually never be achieved virtually.  It is an opportunity to test ambitious and bold ideas, always with Humanity at the centre of discussions.

We leave the conference with a stronger resolve than ever to work to improve the lives of the most vulnerable. Together.

Our principle of Universality tells us it must be so.
