Building safe and resilient communities

A) Objectives of the pledge:

Recognizing the RCRC Movement’s commitment to the Sendai Framework with the One Billion Coalition for Resilience, the Korean Red Cross will contribute to building safe and resilient communities through active cooperation and engagement at all levels.

 

 

B) Action plan:

Commit by the end of 2019 to:

    1. Establish the IFRC Asia Pacific Regional Reference Centre on Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience to maximize knowledge and information on resilient related issues within and beyond the region by:

 

 

    • Expanding our advocacy for focusing on disaster risk reduction, resilience and associated policy frameworks;

 

    • Mobilizing individuals, communities and stakeholders to engage in the One Billion Coalition for Resilience;

 

2. Provide relevant trainings and educations for the public in Korea;

3. Establish the region-wide online youth platform for sharing information, experiences and knowledge among youth members in Asia Pacific and strengthening youth engagement and involvement in the One Billion Coalition for Resilience.
