Sexual and gender-based violence during times of armed conflict or in the aftermath of disasters and other emergencies

A) Objectives of the pledge:

Hungary is firmly committed to strengthening all efforts aimed at ending sexual violence in conflict, foremost committed against women and girls. In this regard the Government of Hungary and the Hungarian Red Cross pledge to contribute to the international initiatives to combat sexual violence in conflicts, particularly against women and girls, and support international initiatives aimed at eliminating all forms of such crimes.

B) Action plan:

Evaluation criteria by 2019: The Government and the national society pledges to organize a workshop aimed at advancing the implementation of UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security and related Resolutions (1820, 1888, 1889, 1960, 2106, 2122 and 2242) with a special emphasis on the gender based violence in armed conflict.
